Canada
Canada are one of three host nations that automatically qualify for the World Cup, the other two being USA and Mexico. This will be Canada’s third World Cup appearance, they have been eliminated at the group stage in both tournaments so far, including in 2022. Switzerland are favorites to win Group B, but Canada are next in the betting, and have plenty of talent in their roster, including Alphonso Davies and Jonathan David.
Bosnia & Herzegovina
Bosnia & Herzegovina have qualified for the World Cup for the first time since 2014, they went out in the group stage on that occasion. Bosnia secured their place in the 2026 tournament when they defeated Italy on penalties in their playoff final. This is set to be Bosnia’s star player and all time top scorer Edin Dzeko’s final tournament for his nation, at 40 years old.
Qatar
Qatar are the outsiders in Group B, in what is their second ever World Cup appearance. Qatar hosted the tournament in 2022, therefore qualified automatically, but were eliminated in the group stage after losing all three matches. Qatar don’t possess much star quality in their roster, and will find it tough in Group B.
Switzerland
The 2026 World Cup marks the seventh consecutive occasion that Switzerland have appeared at the tournament since 2006. They have reached the round of 16 in all three of their previous World Cup campaigns. Switzerland have been drawn in a weak group on paper, and with a strong roster including Granit Xhaka, Noah Okafor, and Manuel Akanji, they should progress from Group B.
