Dallas Stadium (AT&T Stadium) History
The AT&T Stadium in Texas was built in 2009, and is best known for being the home of NFL team Dallas Cowboys. The stadium is also the home of the Big 12 Championship Game, as well as the Cotton Bowl. It is the largest stadium in the NFL in terms of seating capacity, and has hosted a wide range of additional events in recent times, including rodeos, motocross, and professional wrestling.
The stadium was built to replace the Texas Stadium, which was the former home of the Cowboys from 1971 to 2008. The AT&T Stadium is owned by the city of Arlington, and has been utilised across a wide range of events in recent times, including basketball games, soccer, rodeos, motocross, professional wrestling, concerts, and more. The stadium is often referred to as Jerry World, after Dallas Cowboys’ owner Jerry Jones.
What is the Dallas Stadium like?
One of the standout features of the AT&T Stadium is its retractable roof, making it an all-weather facility, available all year round. This feature has allowed the venue to host a wide range of sporting and entertainment events over recent years. Another standout feature is the twin video boards at the stadium that stretch from one 20-yard line to the other, and are among the top 100 largest HD video screens in the world, making for excellent viewing from the stands.
From the outside, the AT&T Stadium has a curved white roof, and a silver exterior wrapped around it. It's easy on the eye and hard to miss. The stadium has four-tiers all the way around when inside the venue, helping build incredible noise and an excellent atmosphere for watching live sport.
