What Are NBA Win Totals?

An NBA season win total is a futures bet on how many regular-season games a team will win during the 82-game schedule. Sportsbooks set an over/under win total for each team, and bettors wager on whether the team will finish with more or fewer wins than the posted number. The bet is settled using the team's final regular-season record, with postseason games not counting toward the total.

NBA win totals are typically posted with a half-win line, such as 45.5 wins, to ensure a clear winner. If you bet Over 45.5, your team must win at least 46 games. If you bet Under 45.5, the team must finish with 45 wins or fewer. On whole-number totals, such as 43 wins, a bet can result in a push if the team finishes with exactly 43 victories, and your stake is refunded.

Sportsbooks release NBA win totals shortly after the previous season ends and adjust them throughout the offseason. Odds and win totals can change based on factors such as the schedule release, injuries, depth-chart battles, coaching changes, betting action from the market, and more.

If you're new to totals betting, see our How to Bet Over/Under advice for a full breakdown of totals wagers. You can also learn more about long-term betting markets in our Futures Betting Guide.

2026-27 NBA Win Totals by Division

Fanatics Sportsbook is offering win totals for all 30 NFL teams for the 2026-27 season.

Atlantic Division

Boston Celtics

Win Total Line: 51.5 Wins
Lean:
Over

The Celtics have a strong 51.5 win total line for the 2026-27 season. Boston has averaged 59.5 wins per season across head coach Joe Mazzulla's four campaigns in charge - last seasons 56-26 record was their worst win total under Mazzulla. The Celtics have gone over their win total line in each of the past five seasons.

Brooklyn Nets

Win Total Line: 24.5 Wins
Lean:
Over

Despite the Nets winning just 20 games last season, there could be value in taking the over 24.5 win line in 2026-27. Brooklyn has gone over its win total in both of the last two campaigns, and has added proven veterans such as Julius Randle and Michael Porter Jr. to its roster for the new season.

New York Knicks

Win Total Line: 52.5 Wins
Lean:
Over

While New York went just 53-29 in the regular season last year, they still posted one of the NBA's best net ratings and likely would have exceeded their win total if not for a costly 2-9 slump during the winter. The Knicks dominated the playoffs with elite offensive and defensive numbers, finishing their title run with a 16-3 record. If they can continue that form in the 2026-27 season, 53 wins looks within reach.

Philadelphia 76ers

Totals Line: 50.5 Wins
Lean:
Under

The Philadelphia 76ers have gone under their win total line in two of the past three seasons, and the under could be the play against in 2026-27. The additions of LeBron James and Jaylen Brown have made the 76ers a legitimate title contender, but building chemistry among several high-usage stars could take time.

Toronto Raptors

Totals Line: 45.5 Wins
Lean:
Over

Toronto won 46 games last season and established a high floor under head coach Darko Rajaković, finishing as one of the league's best defensive teams. The biggest reason for optimism is Scottie Barnes, who enjoyed a breakout campaign and emerged as one of the NBA's top two-way players. Toronto has go over its win total line in each of the past two seasons, and the over could provide value once again in 2026.

Central Division

Chicago Bulls

Win Total Line: 29.5 Wins
Lean:
Over

Chicago Bulls' 29.5 win total line looks a little low for the 2026-27 season. The Bulls have won 30+ games in each of the past six campaigns, and even during last season's rebuilding year, Chicago won 31 games. Rookie Caleb Wilson is expected to contribute immediately, while the addition of Nic Claxton brings a reliable defensive presence. The Bulls look set to have a stronger roster than they had last season.

Cleveland Cavaliers

Win Total Line: 48.5 Wins
Lean:
Over

The Cavs won 52 games last season and played some of their best basketball after acquiring James Harden, finishing the year strong and reaching the Eastern Conference Finals. Cleveland have managed 49+ wins in three of the past four seasons, and have retained their core players for the new season. The addition of Peyton Watson should also provide valuable defensive depth and versatility.

Detroit Pistons

Win Total Line: 49.5 Wins
Lean:
Under

Detroit was one of the NBA's biggest surprises last year, and matching that level of success will be difficult as the Eastern Conference looks set to be more competitive in 2026. The Pistons have go under their posted win total line in four of the past six seasons, and Detroit's young core could experience some inconsistency this year.

Indiana Pacers

Totals Line: 44.5 Wins
Lean:
Over

Indiana looks primed for a major rebound with Tyrese Haliburton expected back from injury. The Pacers won only 19 games without their star point guard last season, but before that had established themselves as one of the Eastern Conference's top teams under Rick Carlisle. Indiana has a track record of outperforming expectations under Carlisle, clearing its preseason win total in three straight seasons prior to last year.

Milwaukee Bucks

Totals Line: 26.5 Wins
Lean:
Over

Despite losing Giannis Antetokounmpo, the Bucks have several players capable of contributing immediately. Tyler Herro has already proven he can be a high-level scorer, Jaime Jaquez Jr. is coming off a breakout season, and Kel'el Ware has the potential to make a significant leap in his third year. Milwaukee's combination of young talent and a low win threshold makes the over 26.5 wins an appealing play.

Southeast Division

Atlanta Hawks

Win Total Line: 43.5 Wins
Lean:
Under

Atlanta may struggle to repeat last season's 46-win campaign in a tougher Eastern Conference. Much of the Hawks' success came during a dominant second-half stretch, but they were far less impressive against quality opponents, finishing just 23-30 against teams with winning records. The Hawks have gone under their posted win total in four of the past five seasons.

Charlotte Hornets

Win Total Line: 39.5 Wins
Lean:
Under

Charlotte may struggle to match last season's surprising 44-win performance after trading away franchise guard LaMelo Ball. Ball was a major contributor, averaging 20.1 points and 7.1 assists while helping drive the Hornets' success. His departure leaves plenty of question marks around the Hornets' offensive capabilities in 2026. Charlotte has gone under its win total line three times since the 2022-23 season.

Miami Heat

Win Total Line: 46.5 Wins
Lean:
Over

Taking the over on Miami's win total line could be the value play in the 2026-27 season. A core built around Giannis and Bam Adebayo should immediately become one of the league's best defensive units. Even if the offense takes time to adjust, Miami has enough talent to consistently beat weaker teams and rack up regular-season wins.

Orlando Magic

Totals Line: 43.5 Wins
Lean:
Over

Orlando looks like a prime bounce-back candidate after underperforming expectations last season. Despite injuries and offensive struggles, the Magic still won 45 games, which would already be enough to clear this year's number. The Magic have brought in new head coach Sean Sweeney, who is expected to help improve an offense that has consistently lagged behind the team's elite defense.

Washington Wizards

Totals Line: 35.5 Wins
Lean:
Over

The additions of Trae Young and Anthony Davis give the Wizards proven star power, while No. 1 overall pick AJ Dybantsa joins a promising young core featuring Tre Johnson, Kyshawn George, and Alex Sarr. A full season from Young and Davis would dramatically raise Washington's floor.

Northwest Division

Denver Nuggets

Win Total Line: 49.5 Wins
Lean:
Over

The Nuggets won 54 games last season and have reached the 50-win mark in four consecutive years, establishing themselves as one of the NBA's most reliable regular-season teams. Jamal Murray is coming off an All-NBA season, Aaron Gordon remains a key two-way contributor, and Christian Braun is expected to take on a larger role in the 2026-27 campaign.

Minnesota Timberwolves

Win Total Line: 48.5 Wins
Lean:
Under

Minnesota has already slipped from a 56-win team to back-to-back 49-win seasons, suggesting the franchise may be moving sideways rather than forward. Minnesota has taken on significant risk by reshaping its roster around Anthony Edwards and LaMelo Ball - Ball's lengthy injury history makes it difficult to project a full season of availability. 48.5 wins is a lofty target, and there could be value in taking the under.

Oklahoma City Thunder

Win Total Line: 60.5 Wins
Lean:
Over

The Thunder have won 68 and 64 games over the past two seasons, averaging 66 wins during that span, and remain one of the NBA's deepest and most talented teams. Oklahoma City boasts a championship-caliber core led by Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Jalen Williams, and Chet Holmgren, despite moving on from several rotation players ahead of the new season.

Portland Trail Blazers

Totals Line: 43.5 Wins
Lean:
Over

The arrival of Ja Morant provides the dynamic playmaking and rim pressure the Blazers lacked in the half court, while a healthy Damian Lillard returning from injury gives Portland another proven offensive creator. Combined with breakout forward Deni Avdija, the Blazers have enough offensive firepower to take a meaningful step forward from last season and hit the 44 win mark.

Utah Jazz

Totals Line: 35.5 Wins
Lean:
Over

Utah's roster is far stronger than that of a typical team with a mid-30s win total. The addition of Jaren Jackson Jr. gives the Jazz another impact player, while Peterson's scoring ability could provide an immediate boost. Utah went over its low 18.5 win line in 2025-26, and the over looks the play again this campaign.

Pacific Division

Golden State Warriors

Win Total Line: 39.5 Wins
Lean:
Over

Golden State won 37 games last season despite Stephen Curry appearing in only 43 games, suggesting there is room for improvement with better health. The Warriors also have reason to expect internal growth. Rookie Yaxel Lendeborg could contribute immediately, while Jimmy Butler is expected to return later in the season. The Warriors have managed 40+ wins in four of the past five seasons.

Los Angeles Clippers

Win Total Line: 27.5 Wins
Lean:
Over

While Kawhi Leonard, James Harden, and Ivica Zubac are gone, the Clippers received players who can still contribute immediately. Darius Garland gives Los Angeles a proven lead guard, while Brandon Ingram has shown he can be an All-Star-caliber scorer when healthy. The Clippers' win total line has shifted from 30.5 to 27.5, and the over could provide some value for the 2026-27 season.

Los Angeles Lakers

Win Total Line: 46.5 Wins
Lean:
Under

Los Angeles faces significant uncertainty entering its first season without LeBron James. The Lakers have also undergone a major roster overhaul in the offseason, adding players such as Walker Kessler, Quentin Grimes, and Collin Sexton. Despite winning 50 games last season, the Lakers benefited from dominating weaker opponents, and a more competitive league environment could make those easy wins harder to find.

Phoenix Suns

Totals Line: 40.5 Wins
Lean:
Over

The Suns won 45 games last season and earned a playoff berth, comfortably surpassing their win total line of 30.5. Devin Booker remains one of the NBA's most reliable stars and offensive engines in 2026, while Phoenix also has upside from players such as Jalen Green and Mark Williams, while role players like Dillon Brooks, Jordan Goodwin, and Luke Kennard provide valuable depth. Phoenix look good to reach the 41 win mark.

Sacramento Kings

Totals Line: 20.5 Wins
Lean:
Over

Sacramento won 22 games last season despite significant struggles, meaning only a modest improvement is needed to clear this total. Even if the Kings aren't serious playoff contenders, reaching 21 wins is a relatively low bar. Improved health from key players and development from their younger core could be enough to get them there.

Southwest Division

Dallas Mavericks

Win Total Line: 34.5 Wins
Lean:
Under

The Mavericks look set for another difficult season, making under 34.5 wins an appealing bet. Dallas won just 26 games last year and finished the season poorly. While Kyrie Irving's return, Cooper Flagg's development, and a healthier frontcourt should help, there are still major question marks around a roster that finished near the bottom of the Western Conference.

Houston Rockets

Win Total Line: 48.5 Wins
Lean:
Under

Houston should benefit from Fred VanVleet's return and the additions of experienced players like Marcus Smart, while stars Amen Thompson, Kevin Durant, and Alperen Şengün give them a strong core. However, matching or exceeding last season's 52-win pace won't be easy in a loaded Western Conference. The Rockets went narrowly under their win total last season and the under looks the play again for 2026-27.

Memphis Grizzlies

Win Total Line: 30.5 Wins
Lean:
Under

Memphis has moved on from the core that defined its previous era. Desmond Bane is gone, Ja Morant is no longer on the roster, and Jaren Jackson Jr. has also departed, leaving the franchise without the star power that once made it a playoff contender - the current roster is centered around youth and development. Memphis has gone under its win total line in two of the past three seasons.

New Orleans Pelicans

Totals Line: 27.5 Wins
Lean:
Over

New Orleans may not be a playoff contender, but this number feels a bit too low for a roster that still has several proven NBA players. The Pelicans also have a mix of young talent and experienced veterans. The Pelicans may still be a year or two away from serious contention, but this roster appears more competitive than a 27-win team on paper.

San Antonio Spurs

Totals Line: 59.5 Wins
Lean:
Over

After winning 62 games last season and reaching the NBA Finals, the Spurs enter this year with one of the league's deepest and most talented rosters. Expectations are sky-high, but there's plenty of reason to believe this group can meet them.

Notable 2026-27 Win Total Movers and Outliers

The Oklahoma City Thunder headline the 2026-27 NBA win total lines, with the Thunder's line set at 60.5 wins at Fanatics Sportsbook. This reflects Oklahoma's status as leading NBA Championship contenders, clear of the rest of the field in this futures market ahead of the 2026 season.

At the opposite end of the board, the Sacramento Kings have the lowest win total lines at Fanatics Sportsbook, with an over/under line of 20.5.

The Philadelphia 76ers have seen one of the biggest increases in their NBA win total during the offseason. Their total rose from 48.5 wins to 50.5 wins after the additions of Jaylen Brown and LeBron James, reflecting increased expectations for a championship-contending roster.

How to Bet NBA Win Totals

To make successful bets on NBA win totals, make sure to analyze each team's roster, schedule, injury record, coaching changes and more. Teams with injury-prone players, difficult schedules, and ageing core players could provide value when betting the unders. While teams with strong coach and player continuity, favorable schedules, and returning key players could provide value when taking the overs line.

The timing of your NBA win totals bets is also important. By betting early, before or during preseason, you could secure better line value before lines move due to public betting pressure and other factors. However, betting early isn't always the best approach. Waiting for preseason to begin can provide greater context and information on team performance, injury news, coach changes, schedule information, and more.

Correlating the win total market with similar markets for the same team is an advisable action to take. If a team are among the favorites to make the playoffs, but there win totals line is set lower than the majority of other teams, there could be value in taking the overs line for example.

Refer to your bankroll before wagering on win totals bets, too. Win totals bets are futures, meaning your money will be tied up for potentially the whole season. This might not fit your betting style and bankroll structure.

2026-27 NBA Win Totals FAQs

When are NBA win totals released?

NBA win totals for each team are released following the end of the NBA Finals and are updated throughout the offseason. Win totals lines can change due to various factors, including roster changes, schedule release, major injury news, and more.

How does a win total bet work?

A win total bet is a wager on the number of games a specific NBA team will win during the regular-season. Sportsbooks set an over/under line, and bettors choose whether the team in question will win more games or less games than the set number. If a team's win total is 58.5 wins, betting on the over wins if the team records 59 or more victories, and the under cashes if the team wins 58 games or fewer.

What happens if a team hits the number exactly (push)?

If a team hits the exact number set by the sportsbook, the bet is a push. A push means that your bet has neither won nor lost, and you will be returned your initial bet amount by the sportsbook. Most sportsbooks use half-win totals for win totals lines, such as 58.5, to eliminate the possibility of a push.

Are overs or unders the better bet?

Neither overs or unders is a better bet for win totals. The better bet depends on individual bettor opinion and reasoning, depending on the team and the set win total number. To find a high value win totals bet, analyze factors including roster changes, schedule release, key injuries, and more.

Where can I bet NBA win totals?

You can bet on NBA win totals for all 30 teams at Fanatics Sportsbook, which is offering a variety of additional NBA futures lines for the 2026-27 season.
